Beginning of 2010, back in the air!

Well after a long while here I am again. Pimpblog was having some problems previously so I could not post any messages. After that I was busy and forgotten to write something. SORRY!!!!
Well last time it was Christmas and cold. Luckily the weather is getting much better every day. Yesterday I was even wearing shorts and a t-shirt! Finnally summer is coming.
In February we ofcourse celebrated Chinese New Year. Which is a week of celebrations. You have two options; 1 stay home and go out for dinner and drinks every day or 2 go travelling with your family or friends. Well this year we decided to stay in Taipei. So the whole week was about dinnerparties here and there. After a week you really need another break. But it is the perfect time to catch up with old friends or good friends.
After Chinese New Year, we had our pre-wedding photo shoot. This is actually something where Taiwan is very famous for. People form other Asian countries come to Taiwan to shoot the pictures, or they go with the whole crew to other countries, just for the view. It is crazy. Before the wedding you go to several places to make the most beautifull pictures of you and your fiancee. Ofcourse also a lot is corrected with photoshop. They love photoshop here, they will make their eyes bigger and make them even more skinny. Every spot is erased and their skin will be very white. Sometimes when the picture is taken it was cloudy and rainy, but the photographer can still make it look like the perfect sunny day! Well, Aming and me choose the clothes and looked on the internet for the kind of pictures we liked. And it was fun being a model for one day, but my jaws were stiff when we went back. Having to put up a fake smile the whole day poeh! And I have never worn so much makeup in my entire life. I even had fake eyelashes!!!! But hey the pictures turned out beautifully.

Then in February I also met another Dutchie (Dewi). She has just moved to Taiwan with her Danish husband. We met and had a click. So we are often hanging out now. Last week I took her to eat one of my favourites "Jia Mu Ya" (duck/ginger hot pot). She wasn't that enthousiastic but afterwards she agreed it was good. A balloon magician came and entertain us some more. Giving me a bunch of flowers and Dewi angel wings.
And Dewi helped me sign up for the Dragon Boat Races. I will be participating in the Dutch boat. And what you all not know is that when you participate in this you have to practice ofcourse. But these practices are very very very hard. You have them early in the morning, before everybody starts work. So perhaps 6-8 and you will be fagged for sure!!!! They really work on your physical condition. But I have to try it once right! I'll keep you posted.

Aming's mother is looking after a small boy called An-An. He is sooooo cute! And sometimes I will take him to the park or to the soccerfield to play. As Aming's mother is getting older ofcourse she is not always in for this. When it was his birthday, Aming and me took him too the zoo! He loved watching all the animals, eating ice-cream and running in the zoo. When we bought a small cake and lighted the candle he started to cry. Seems that he is afraid of fire. Because he kept saying we had to blow it... hahahaha.

I have been teaching English more and more lately. It is an expensive year, so working harder want be bad. And last 2 weeks I had to tutor a highschool student. He had an English University interview. He wants to become and English teacher himself and so he was really determined to enter this University. We had several classes to practice and improve his self introduction and to answer questions. Not only looking at his English ability, but also his gestures and his attitude. Well finally yesterday I heard that he made it through. So he is very happy and ofcourse I am proud that I could help him.
Next month is ofcourse my birthday, and we will go to the beach again. Same as two years ago.
